i Roser Astride Four Winners at River Downs Guides Tippitoes Home on Top In Clever Style at Long Route By W. A. CRUSE Staff Correspondent RIVER DOWNS, Cincinnati, Ohio, June 22. Jockey Gilbert Roser, a native of this city, became the first rider of the meeting to guide four winners on an afternoons card. Roser was astride H.-W. and M. F. Thomas Golden Tempest to complete the Daily Double, Rode Mrs. G. Proskauers Tippitoes to victory in the third race, came back in the fifth race to have Terrell Brothers Even Step on top at the wire and in the sixth race piloted Edward W. Rue-buschs Bargain Miss to her second win of the year. Roser was astride H. W. and M. F. Thomas Golden Tempest in the second race, the second half jjf the Daily Double, and then piloted Mrs. G. Proskauers Tippitoes to victory in the third event.. To those who coupled Golden Tempest in the second race with the Refnem Stables Secret Passion, who was handled by the veteran rider, Jerry West, the Double was worth 2.00 as a 9 and 10 combination. To score with Tippitoes in the third race, Roser executed a rather clever ride and forged between horses when an opening appeared leaving the stretch turn. He was well on top in midstretch and at the end lasted to have a half a .length on Running- Girl who races in the interest of M. Tuttle. The time for the mile and one-eighth was 1:54 and Tippitoes returned a flat .00. .
