Kid Gayilan to Campaign In South America, Europe HAVANA, Cuba, June 22 UP . Kid Gavilan, the former Worlds Welterweight Champion, said today he will campaign in South America and Europe before returning to fight in the United States next spring. Gavilan will leave his native Cuba Thursday for Buenos Aires where he plans three to five fights in the next three months. From there he will go to Europe for several bouts and then return to Cuba before going to the U. S. Gavilan said he was confident of his ability to come back. "Im hitting harder than ever," he said. "Theres going to be a Gavilan around for quite a while. Whether they like it or not, Im going to force them to give me another shot at the welterweight championship when I return to the U. S." Gavilan lost his title -to Johnny Saxton last Oct. 20.
