Belmont Park Work Tab Shows Many Fast Times Doubledogdare, Southarlington, Gun Shot, Gold Box Have Speed BELMONT PARK, Elmont, L. I., N. Y., June 22. Claiborne Farms Doubledogdare, romping winner of the National Stallion Stakes in her last, local outing, showed this, morning that she has lost none of her speed. The daughter of Double Jay zipped five furlongs in 1:00 with very little effort over a track that was no better than "good" as it was drying out from last nights rain. Doubledogdare is not eligible to the Astoria Stakes at Aqueduct. J. Clark Ross TXs speedy Southarlington, who is eligible to Saturdays Edgemere Handicap, but appears better suited by a somewhat shorter distance than that nine furlongs, was very impressive this morning as he stepped five panels in 1:00 in handy style. Alfred G. Vanderbilts Social Outcast, who was declared from the Edge-mere before the publication of the weights, breezed the same distance in 1:01. Several of the Maine Chance Farm horses turned in good moves on the main track this morning. The two-year-old Gun Shot, who seems to be improving, went a handy five furlongs in 1:01. The filly, Belle Busher went a rapid six furlongs in 1:12, when her saddle slipped. She was then eased up, but completed a mile in 1:41 with her exercise rider standing in the irons. Her early fractions were :23 and :47. The same stables Incidentally went six furlongs in 1:13, handily, showing high early speed, as is her custom, while Friendly Ace went seven panels in 1:29, just breezing. Greentree Stables Gold Box, who suddenly ran to his trials in the Shevlin, showed that he suffered no ill-effect from that easy victory by breezing five furlongs in 1:01. The son of Heliopolis is eligible to go against older horses in the seven-furlong Carter Handicap on July 4, but has more suitable engagements during the Sar-atoga-at-Jamaica meeting. Vera S. Braggs Rosie, who may be the favorite in tomorrows fifth race at Aqueduct, flashed three furlongs in :35 on the deep training track, which was labelled "fast" this morning. Over at Aqueduct, Reginald N. Websters Sorceress, who showed a return to her best form in her last start, but had extremely bad racing luck, stepped a mile in 1:42, going evenly all the way. The Slide Rule filly is eligible to Mondays Gazelle Stakes at a mile and a sixteenth and appears capable of scoring a surprise. At the same track, Ogden Phipps Bas-sanio turned in seven furlongs in 1:26 in handy fashion. This fellow won last years Monmouth Handicap and may again be a factor in that event as he seems to be returning to his best form.
