SMOOTH CROSSING DESTROYED ARLINGTON DOWNS, Texas, April 2. A casualty came with the mile seventh race at Arlington Downs Monday when E. Sach-senmaiers Smooth Crossing broke his left foreleg at the far turn and later was destroyed. Winning honors went to Mrs. E. Haughtons Miss Morocco with Benefit, which paid 42.20 for each place ticket, second, and Frost Bite third. Smooth Crossing, which had trailed his field for nearly a half mile, was improving his position when he met his fatal accident. H. Dabson, who rode the horse, escaped injury.
