RIDICULE FOREIGN EFFORTS BERLIN, Germany, April 21. Foreign efforts to break tho Rome-Berlin axis were ridiculed today in an exchange of messages between Premier Mussolini and Chancellor Hitler. Congratulating Hitler on his birth- day yesterday, II Duco said: "Our friendship, which has stood many tests, cannot be disturbed by ridiculous enemy attempts. Our enemies eventually will convince themselves they have chosen the wrong road, while Fascism and Nationalist Socialism arc on tho road of justice and peace." Hitler replied with similar assurances of unshakable Italo-Gcrman friendship.
