ZAGGING easily set the pace to the final turn, then lost command while badly bearing out, but came again despite drifting in and outfinished TARPORT KID. The latter found room to steadily improve position racing next to the rail, assumed command when ZAGGING raced wide into the stretch, but was not good enough despite vigorous handling and pulled up lame. RUXTON was urged forward after a half mile, saved ground in the drive, but lacked a rally. ROUGH COOKIE, sluggish early, made up distance on the final turn, but tired. LADY BOUNCER raced within close striking distance of MAID OFFLIGHTt quickly moved to the latter entering the stretch and, after swerving under punishment, was gradually drawing away at the end. MAID OF FLIGHT had the most speed from the start, saved all possible ground and held on fairly well. MISS BENZ dropped back while racing outside of horses on the turn, then closed with good courage in the stretch run. SILVER SHOES raced wide into the stretch and weakened. POPPET was tiring when forced wide by SILVER SHOES. GARSTARA could not keep up. GLOCCA MORRA was outrun. MAMIE DEAR and BALS BEST showed nothing. Scratched-903823 In the Sky, 118. BELTON BOY was vigorously ridden in pursuit of the leaders after *he initial three furlongs, then moved fast to-take command from the. outside on the final turn, and drew out under continued pressure in the last eighth. JERRYS BEST was intermittently urged while meeting several challenges in setting the pace, fought it out gamely into the last furlong, and suddenly weakened. WISE MARKET dropped back on the turn but responded when strongly punished to gain his position at the end. MILLDALE lacked a rally. MIRABEAU forced the early pace and faltered. BIT 0 WHIZ easily assumed a clear early lead, was nicely steadied when headed by UPSETTER rounding the turn, and then drew away from that one when urged for the drive and continued evenly. MARCH BRAT was guided to the rail after a slow beginning, rallied strongly -after settling in stride and, after coming through close quarters midstretch, finished fast. UPSETTER gained a short lead over BIT 0 WHIZ under urging on the turn, then weakened in the stretch drive. COLOR GUARD began slowly, circled wide for the drive and finished with a rush. ROCKY HEIGHTS failed to respond when punished. MR. BUSTER weakened in the final stages. THE SPANIEL was under strong restraint while attempting to bear out on the final turn. SIREN SONG was outrun. THASIAN HERO was under steadying restraint while maintaining a short lead over PICADOR, opened a commanding lead when roused on the final turn and continued gamely to the end. PALATIAL APPETITE was pocketed behind horses and forced to be repeatedly taken back for five and one-half furlongs, then was guided to the outside and, while closing with a rush through the stretch, bore over and impeded CLOSED DOOR, for which he was disqualified and placed third. CLOSED DOOR occasionally lacked racing room on the inside and had to be under restraint, came between horses at the head of the stretch, then was bumped off stride by PALATIAL APPETITE a furlong out and hung. GOOD SHOT broke tardily and was restrained to the final turn, began a strong rally, but was blocked, and could not get up when clear in the stretch. BOBS ALIBI had a rather rough trip after a slow beginning and, after reaching contention, hung. KASTER faltered when put to pressure. STELLA AURATA made her move around horses on the turn and, losing ground, faltered. PICADOR flattened out in the drive. JOEY BOY was not a factor Overweight— Bobs Alibi, 2 pounds; Stella Aurata, 4.
