I LINCOLN FIELDS TURF NOTES f 4_ _ $ J. J. Sirl is here with the fleet and veteran Silverette and two other horses he will race for Garrett Watts. Silverette, now nine years old, is a candidate for Thursdays Crete Handicap. J. A. Best is expecting a two-year-old from Maryland which he will race here for J. E. Hughes. Clyde Van Dusen checked in with the twenty horses he will campaign in Chicago for himself and Charles T. Fishers Dixiana stable. The stakes performer, Torchy, heads the establishment. Another arrival from Bay Meadows was H. S. Swift with the horses Wegoway, Count Pan, Blue Sheeps and King June. Jockey M. Caffarella is here from California and will do much of the riding for the stable of J. E. Copenhaver. William Causey has been here several days with fourteen thoroughbreds he is training for Dr. E. H. Bennett and Leo Beyda. George Morris has taken over the eight horses owned by K. Mayer. They formerly were handled by F. Guiher who is ill. The horses J. J. OByrne brought here from winter quarters and which he will train for various owners are Flying Lassie, Seymour W., Vuljest, Keen Jest, Burl and Sun Erin. Jockey Harold West checked in from St. Louis and will ride here free lance. T. M. Doyle reported the death of the horse Nonconnah, which succumbed to indigestion.
