» . — . IMPOUND OUT FOR YEAR NEW YORK, N. Y., May 22.— Alfred Van-derbilt reported that Impound had been retired for the remainder of the year, due to a weakened tendon, the trouble being discovered after he had finished fourth in the Preakness Stakes. The son of Sun Beau and Embargo Arts, which won the San Vicente Handicap, finished second in the Chesapeake and third in the Santa Anita Derby and Wood Memorial, has been put away at Sagamore Farm and Vanderbilt hopes his condition will permit preparation for the 1940 Santa Anita Handicap.
