OAKWOODS LAD, under restraint on the outside in the run down the back stretch, responded when called upon •turninginfo the stretch, disposed of DODLOO approaching the finislr* and, -under .mild urging, withstood LITTLE KIEV in the closing strides. The latter,, under restraint when outrun in the early stages,, , was steered to the outside for the drive and finished strongly. GLOVE, prominent from the start, saved " ground throughout and held on gamely in the concluding stages. KINGSHIGHWAY was never a great distance back, but failed to respond to strong pressure in the drive. BRILLIANT PAL raced slightly wide rounding the first turn and, on the outside thereafter, was unable to menace the leaders in the closing ..... stages. DODLOO, under good rating setting the pace, had nothing left when challenged. REELAWAY could not improve position under pressure. CLOSE CALL quit. KAI HARRI was through after five-eighths.
