t WOODBINE PARK NOTES $ ■ and T. J. Murphy of Poughkeepsie, N. Y., famous trotting horse trainer and former trainer of the Greentree Stables Twenty Grand, is here for the meeting as guest of H. Giddings. Trainer W. Russell reports that the gelding Spearman is en route from Beulah Park, Grove City, Ohio, to Woodbine Park. Malcolm D. Richardson, placing judge at Woodbine, who was unable to report for duty Saturday through sickness, has recovered and was at his post today. Jockey R. G. Fisher reports that his son Reynold, who has been ill with pneumonia, is progressing rapidly. Racing secretary Galligher has changed the distance of the Woodstock Plate to be run Thursday, May 25, from one mile and one-sixteenth, to one mile and seventy yards. This event carried the value of ,500 added. Trainer A. McCauley has taken over the plater Ceaseless to train for J. Martin. Jockey P. Remillard suffered a bruised leg when he was crushed against the stationaiy stalls while astride the Four Ls Stables Cabin Gal Saturday. He was replaced by C. W. Smith, but was able to fulfill his other engagements. Apprentice Ronald Nash arrived to fulfill his engagement in the Kings Plate on H. C. Hatchs Budsis. He left following the final race for New York City. Nash, a native of Toronto, was under contract to A. J. Halli-well, who disposed of his contract to R. F. Whitaker. Apprentice D. Johnston accepted his first mount for his new employer, M. Fishman, when he piloted Lingster in the second rade.
