CHANNING moved into contention rapidly after getting into stride, wore down PRINCE KHAYYAM entering the stretch and had enough in reserve to withstand BANK HOLIDAY. The latter, kept forwardly placed for three-quarters, finished gamely when shaken up. PRINCE KHAYYAM set a good pace and saved ground, but tired when caught. JANSTAR tired after making strong early bids. LIGHT ACTION lost ground all the way. FLEET WIND was outrun. DANCING MACK was done early. FLYING CARPET quit badly.
