Roy D. Compton Killed In Automobile Accident EDINBURGH, Ind., May 16. — Roy D. Compton, prominent local businessman and thoroughbred owner, was killed in an automobile accident near here Saturday night, when returning from a trip to Churchill Downs. Compton, who was 44, had planned to campaign his modest string at the forthcoming River Downs meeting in California, Ohio, and had reserved stall space for the unit. The horses were trained by W. Davis. At the 1950 River Downs session, Temporary, owned by Compton, won five straight races.
