SOME BID assumed an early lead, made the pace to the stretch under occasional urging, then gamely withstood a long drive and lasted to hold LADY MIDAS safe. The latter, a sharp factor and saving ground throughout, held on willingly, but could not overtake the winner when hard ridden through the stretch. JOES LADDIE saved ground to the last quarter, was sent to the outside for the stretch run and finished fast in a good effort. GLORYS CHANCE gave a sharp performance and had no mishap. JAY, in hand to the last three-eighths, made a good bid entering the stretch, but faltered nearing the finish. FREE GIFT tired after showing early speed. Scratched— 28157 Romance Hill, 109.
