OUR BULLY, forwardly placed along the inside, was energetically handled to get command inside the final furlong and drew out. RABS SON set the pace and held on stubbornly. SEDULOUS worked his way up between horses, but was unable to reach serious contention. CASHMERE, slow to settle into stride, came to the outside, but lacked a drive. JAMES D. forced the pace before weakening. BIDOJO was unable to keep up. AMEN went evenly. SLATED broke alertly, but was unable to maintain position. The others were outrun. PENCELL, slow to get into best stride, came between horses in the stretch to overtake a tiring leader and drew out. ZO-BO, forced to take back on the far turn and go to the outside, regained stride quickly, was reaching the leader in the stretch, but had nothing left to cope with the winner. FIRST SENTRY moved along the inside to take early command, shortened stride in the stretch and was tiring. TATTOO lacked a closing rally. GERHAM flattened out badly. HANDY SORT quit. RAY K. gained command before a quarter mile, was steadied for the stretch run, responded to pressure and outfinished GUNNING ISLAND. The latter raced close to the pace, eased back on the far turn, came again in the stretch and was pressing at the end. JOES GAL showed good speed, saved ground, but was not good enough. MAYES RILEY, never far off the pace, rallied when roused, but was unable to reach the winner. BONAVENTURE slipped through along the rail in the late stages to finish willingly. MISS GADFLY lacked a rally under strong pressure. M. LONGEINE lost ground on the outside. DEBONAIRE was through after a brief challenge. TYROL was outrun PODIUM quit. ARIELS MARK, in hand while improving position gradually, came to the outside in the drive and wore down POISON ARROW. The latter was bothered early by CRYSTAL PASS, recovered and closed stoutly to just miss. CRYSTAL PASS swerved in leaving the barrier, was straightened to take command after a half mile, held on well until deep in the stretch, then weakened. DARK GLASSES rallied mildly from far off the pace. LIBRARIAN showed nothing LILLIAN W. tired after losing command. QUATREFOIL showed nothing. BOSS H. dropped far off the pace and was never a factor.
