as JJ ie x" *r »r p. -- 5 ill the ie lt -,t rt g Auction Realizes 75#000 PHILADELPHIA, Pa., May 16.— A total of about 75,000 was realized from the nine-day public auction of furnishings the 35 -room mansion, "on the hill" of the late Samuel D. Riddle, which was con- eluded yesterday. Including trophies won by the immortal Man o War, War Ad- miral, Crusader, American Flag and other thoroughbreds who carried the yellow and black racing silks of the Glen Riddle Farm, 2,661 items went under the hammer. Ed-nund Brickley, auctioneer for Samuel Freeman and Co., estimated that 3,700 persons attended the sale, each paying a admission fee. The racing trophies brought lt 8,000.. Under the terms of the Riddle e will, the proceeds of the sale will go to o , e in n e n - r d 1, - T. ?. - 1 lt e to o , _ charities. Mr. Riddle died January 8 last, Mrs. Riddle died in 1942.
