MINNEAPOLIS saved ground and was excellently rated while alternating in setting and forcing the pace with GALLANT JAKE, then responded when strongly hand urged in the final run and drew out. GALLANT JAKE was under strong restraint while racing on the outside of the winner, then weakened and drifted slightly wide when punished in the stretch run. VERA CONNELLY was rated within easy striking distance, but could not menace in the drive. MONMOUTH was well placed on the outside, then failed to respond when urged. ETERNAL GREAT was under strong pressure and a loose rein while well placed behind the tirst flight, was forced to swing extremely wide to clear racing inside the stretch and won while finishing beyond the middle of the track. REFLEXION was hustled along from the start while a keen factor and, saving ground, finished determinedly and bested MESL. The latter was sent forward to set the pace from shortly after the start, held sway into the last furlong and weakened only slightly. WILL I was steadied to keep from bearing out on the turns, then drifted very wide when punished for the drive and hung. LADY FAIRFIELD began tardily, then steadily made up distance in a good effort. GROVER B. saved ground while unable to contend early, then was guided to the middle of the track for the stretch run and, closing with a strong rush, was up to best FRED R. The latter was urged in pursuit of the top one from midway of the turns, held a clear lead inside the final furlong and held on well, but could not withstand the winners bid. MISS NOSOCA. away tardily and rushed into contention, raced wide into the stretch, then finished determinedly in a good effort. WAR AGE immediately dashed into a long lead, was under pressure while setting the pace and flattened out badly in the last furlong. NATE HERZFELD was a forward factor while on the outside, then lacked a closing rally. FLYING JIB weakened. COLE THUNDER raced greenly. HOOPDEDONT began slowly and was eliminated when carried out by SHOCKER on the far turn. SHOCKER was green in the parade and at the post, then attempted to bolt on the turns. FLOWER HAT began alertly, then was steadied rounding the far turn, closed resolutely when shaken up nearing the half mile and was gradually drawing away while doing her best at the end. LUCILLE F. quickly disposed of HIP HIP to open a long lead, readily gave r.ay to the winner when challenged, but held on well when displaced. ORPHEAN raced well out from the rail while qradually improving position from a sluggish beginning and finished willingly. SPRING SCOUT saved ground after a slow beginning and finished well. DR. RILE was outrun. APACHE TRAIL faltered. HIP HIP ran off a short distance with his rider before the start, had good speed away from the gate, but quit early. BLUE SPEED, unable to stay with the pace after an alert start, responded to vigorous punishment in the stretch run and steadily wore down the top ones from the outside to win going away. WAR PHAR, allowed to settle in stride early, was sent forward between horses on the final turn, closed determinedly in the dnve, but could not match the stride of the winner. NELLS BOY was strongly hustled to reach the front from the outside midway on the turns, opened a long lead in the early stretch, but was too much used and had nothing left at the end. SEA FAN could not reach her usual early lead and faltered. KENTARIO was outrun. MOBILE BELLE was used vying for the pace and quit. QUIZ SONG showed nothing. Overweight— Sea Fan, 1 pound; Bobby 0., 3. DANGER AHEAD saved ground while setting most of the pace under good handling, then continued resolutely to the end and bested PICTURE CARD. The latter lodged repeated challenges from the outside and occasionally showed in front, the tired and drifted wide in the last stages. CROWN ME could not join the top pair under pressure and gradually weakened. PENSAVA was taken to the inside after a quarter mile, then did not extend himself while remaining on the inside of horses. BOOTS HAVEN, far back early, rapidly moved past tiring horses rallying from the far turn, saved ground in the drive and, after taking command, quickly drew into a long lead. TELECAST outbroke the field, held a long lead under intermittent pressure! then bore out while tiring in the drive and just lasted to best IDLE PLATTER. The latter was bothered and forced back to last by MAH HEAVENS at the start, had to wend up between horses while improving position on the final turns, then closed fast in the stretch run. FLUSHING SAM was well placed, but lacked a rally THOMAS EDWARD quit. MAH HEAVENS became hung in the gate, broke to the inside and had to be taken up at the start, then reached a contending position and raced evenly. FACES EAST raced on the outside throughout.
