Illinois Notes WASHINGTON PARK, Homewood, 111., May 16. Among the most recent arrivals from Keeneland was the eight-horse public unit maintained by Carmody Vanscoy. Vanscoy trains the thoroughbreds owned by the Mey-Well-Acres Farm and other interests. John L. Oglesby, veteran conditioner, registered his sizable public contingent with racing secretary Lawrence C. Bogen-schutz. Comprising the entourage which enjoyed a successful Churchill Downs campaign are Cacomo, Countess In, Outskirts, Floating Clown, Lutz Girl, Lucille Chick, Warsick and Honors Deck. M. C. Simone, conditioner of a public unit, transferred his stable to Fairmount Park. led in the shipment were Ariel Pal, . Spin, Cherry Ripple, Ida A., Polly Blitzen, Big Elm, Fortitous and Air Time. Leroy J. Keating, trainer of those horses owned by the Chicago sportsman, John Marsch, arrived with his sizable unit from Churchill Downs. Included in the shipment were Brevite, Ol Skipper, Graham, Whirling Dough, and seven others. Owner Morris Whitebook was granted a trainers license and in the future will condition his own horses. Kenneth Hall previously trained the Nebraska Sportsmans stable. Trainer Morris Griner came in from Lexington, Ky., with six horses owned by Jay D. Weil. The Griner contingent remained in winter quarters at Keeneland.
