REY EL CONEJO showed good speed from the start while saving ground along the rail and held on willingly to be best of the others. DELHANNAH, guided between horses for the final test, closed with good courage. SEGUIN tired when set down for the drive RISKAIRE lacked a convincing rally. ESPIRITU failed to stay. MY JULIE was always tetween horses. MIGHTY TEXAN lacked speed, as did PHARACK. FANA G., fractious at the post, was through early during the running. JOES STAR showed nothing. TECHNICOLOR, forced to take up sharply on the far turn, finished with determination when clear. FLASHED tired under punishment. FINAL LEAVE had no apparent excuse. HAPPY WEST retired steadily after possessing brief speed. SHORT REIGN began tardily and lost all chance. DONNA L. was always outrun. SPECIAL quit to a walk. GESSY B., forwardly placed from the beginning, came between horses to reach the lead midway of the final furlong and, in a long drive, gamely withstood FIRE UP. The latter attempted to bear in during the stretch run and as a result was unable to be sternly punished. HENNY PENNY maintained a clear lead nearing the furlong marker, then faltered. SABSON failed to make up appreciable ground during the late stages. NIFTY was much used early and had little left JIMINY CRICKET never threatened. MRS. WELL WORTH IT, away alertly, gave way to PENSIVE LADY on the far turn, regained command while racing along the inside rail inside the stretch, then held on tenaciously. PENSIVE LADY held sway until inside the stretch, weakened slightly and was unable to hold the top one. INKY RACER closed with good courage between horses. OPEN WAY came out for the drive and gradually was wearing down the leaders. LADY OF TIME raced wide. BROWN SMOKE, pinched back at the start, failed to enter serious contention.
