Beulah Park Ushers In 30th Anniversary Meeting in Central Ohio This Afternoon Spring Session of Nineteen t Days; Give Teddys Toy Call For Top Honors in Inaugural BEULAH PARK, Grove City. Ohio, May 6. — This attractive central Ohio course will celebrate its 30th anniversary with the 19-day meeting that gets under way tomorrow and it would occasion little surprise if the session proved J,o be the best in the history of the track on the outskirts of Columbus. The popularity of the plant has been growing steadily and as the sport elsewhere is enjoying peak attendance and mutuel handles, the optimistic outlook of the management here is understandable. The book of conditions written by racing secretary Eugene Bury is designated to cater to the best horses available and the feature races lead up to the ,000 Governors Handicap to be decided on Saturday, May 23. There are nine races on the opening card and limit fields of 10 starters are named for most of the contests. At distances longer than one mile a dozen horses may be started, but no such fields appear on the initial program. A dash of six furlongs, titled the Inaugural, is the headliner for the first days sport and nine entrants in eight interests were named to contest this event which is fashioned under allowance conditions. Mrs. G. F. Posts Teddys Toy may be installed favorite in the feature on the strength of his recent races, but the stiffest sort of competition can be anticipated from Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Coles Secret Thread and J. G. Browns Debdeb. The entry in the headliner is that of A. L. Lawson, who will be represented by Miss Meah and Six-timer. Post time for the first race Saturday has been set for 2:30 p. m.
