Thirteen-Horse Field Seeking Constitution Supremes Bub Out After Third Straight Suffolk Downs Score By AVERY BROWN Staff Correspondent SUFFOLK DOWNS, East Boston, Mass., May 8. — The popularity of free handicaps for a 0,000 prize is borne out here at Suffolk Downs when 13 of the original 14 nominees for tomorrows Constitution Handicap were named overnight. The mile and a sixteenth week-end feature will be headed by C. H. Everitts Supremes Bub, who is assigned 120 pounds and will be seeking his third straight at the East Boston course. Mrs. J. H. Woodcocks consistent Epic King is rated a pound less than Supremes Bub and looms as the main danger. Bracketed at 114 pounds are J. M. Grieves Miss Joan and R. W. Collins Star Chief, S. D. Sidells Smart Choice, Mrs. J. M. Branhams Four Night and Green Dune Farms Artane are next in the weight line-up with 111 pounds. Henry Forrests Triumphant is in the Constitution at 109 pounds, three more than must be carried by J. A. Kelleys Scollay Square, White Orchard Stables Bo-Cap and Double Header H., also owned by Green Dunes Farm. Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Grants Afri-cance and Mrs. A. C. Robertsons Army Pal complete the field for the Constitution. The former is to tote 105 pounds, with the latter in with a feathery 100 pounds. In addition to Supremes Bubs pair of winning sprints over the local oval, the son of Sir Gallahad ILL. or Johnstown has not been worse than second since last July at Delaware Park. In compiling his consistent record, the Everitt colt has twice taken the measure of Curagh King, winner of the Arkansas Derby. Jockey Paul Ward, who has ridden Supremes Bub in all of his 1958 races; wil again have the assignment tomorrow. Epic King has started twice this season, finishing fourth in his debut at Keeneland and duplicating the effort in a sprint over the local strip. Expected to benefit off those outings, Epic King is the logical chief contention against Supremes Bub and will have the services of the veteran Frankie Zehr.
