Sell 27 Head at Kern Dispersal for 0,400 Landy Pays Top Price of 0,000 For Three-Year-Old Fiesta Way Over 1,000 persons were on hand Thursday night when the M. A. Kern horses went under the hammer at the latters farm near Palatine and the 27 head offered brought a total of 0,400, for an average of ,237 per head. Bernard W. Landy paid the two top prices of the sale, going to 0,000 to obtain the three-year-old Fiesta Way, a brown filly by Snark— Hasty Heels, and ,200 for the two-year-old gray colt, Spanish Blade, by Talon — Stylette. The stallion Littletown was taken by Howard W. Reinemans Crown Crest Farm for 00. George Swinebroad was the auctioneer, Humphrey Finney the announcer and the sale was conducted by Fasig-Tipton Co. Kern was well pleaced with the result of the vendue and revealed later in the evening that his farm also had been sold. Kern is retiring due to ill health.
