FLEET FACTOR, reserved to the last three-eighths mile, moved up fast in the middle of the track at the stretch turn, closed gamely under punishment and wore down BUTTON SHOES in the last sixteenth. BUTTON SHOES, hustled into an early lead, set the pace •until inside the stretch, held on willingly, but was unable to stay with the winner. HEAD FOR HOME, never far back, gave a good performance and had no excuse. LA BREEZE lacked early foot. PLUNGER began alertly, but dropped out of serious contention immediately after the start. BATTLE HERO could not keep up after displaying .early speed. I TRUST was far back the entire trip. EIGHTH RACE 1 1-8 MILES. Dr. Clark, Oct. 20, 1921—1:49% — 4—119. SIR COBO went to the front soon after i the start, set the pace to the stretch under good rating and, given a respite when settled near the furlong pole, then drew clear to win with speed in reserve. TRICKY MAUD, forwardly placed from the start, made a bold bid in the early stretch, but could not reach the winner, although much the best of the others. PHAROS DREAM . was unable to reach the top pair when set down for the drive. GRAIGIE could not keep up during the stretch run. ROTANGIS failed to stay after displaying early foot. MORE CHEERS disliked the slow track and was never dangerous. MIO LIPS showed nothing. Scratched— 85113 McCosh, 116. k Overweight— Mio Lips, 1 pound. Tricky Maud claimed by Goshen Stable.
