KELLYS MISTAKE saved ground ► on the turns and got through on the inside of ROWDY ROBERT on the backstretch to take a short lead, but was forced to his utmost in the stretch when the latter held on gamely. ROWDY ROBERT showed good speed in pacemaking and displayed fine courage after being headed. MICROWAVE was outrun early but was pressing r the leaders at the end. TRIPLE FLIGHT dropped back to last place after going a quarter but came again in the final eighth. STOP CLOCKING raced wide.
