Atomic Fire Wins Suffolks Haverhill Purse With Ease SUFFOLK DOWNS, East Boston. Mass., May 8. — J. C. Montanas Atomic Fire triumphed in the featured Haverhill Purse here this afternoon, profiting by early attacks on the favored Valpam, from G. R. Wynhoff s barn. At the finish of the sprint. Atomic Fire was three and a half lengths before Garigan and Corbanis George W. W. A length and a half back in third place was Sid Bernsteins Usual, with the favored Valpam nosed off the board. Ted Johnson, who was scoring a consecutive double, was astride Atomic Fire and the pair covered the six furlongs in 1: 11*15 over a good strip. The winner was an outsider in the betting and paid 8.20. Johnson won the previous race on Sun Jeep.
