Prevaricator Will Return To Races at Pleasanron PLEASANTON, Calif., June 18. — Prevaricator, one time co-holder of the worlds record for one mile, will race during the Alameda County Pair meeting, which opens Friday, June 26, and continues for 14 racing days through Saturday, July 11. Now 11 years old, Prevaricator equaled the then existing mile mark of 1:34%, held by Equipoise, in winning the 1947 running .of the Golden Gate Mile at Golden Gate Fields. The gelded son of the 1935 "Triple I Crown" winner, Omaha, boasts lifetime earnings of exactly 50,000. Last fall Prevaricator was turned out .at the Oregon ranch of his owner, H. L. Con-ley, presumably to a life of ease. "But he just didnt seem happy away from the race track," explains Conley. "When we would put a saddle on him He would act like a young colt, so we decided to give him one more fling."
