Monmouth Increases Noted MONMOUTH PARK, Oceanport, N. J., June 18. — Despite miserable conditions on opening day, attendance and mutuel play for the first three afternoons, of the 1953 summer meeting are gratifying to Monmouth Park officials. Attendance has totaled 44,992 against 41,832 a year ago for an increase of seven per cent, while in wagering ,272,726 has been registered compared to ,999,050 a year ago over the same span. The, increase is nine per cent. It must be remembered that Monmouth Parks "season" actually does not commence until July 1, when the nearby shore area practically doubles in population almost overnight.
