NAVY LORD was unable to shake off the winner rounding the final turn and raced on even terms until the final yards. OFF WE GO .saved ground, but was unable to threaten. MY LUCILLE went evenly. CANT 0MAR showed nothing. SIGNARGIRL lacked early speed. TRIBAL FIRE flashed brief speed. The others were never prominent. A claim of foul against the winner by the rider of NAVY LORD was disallowed. DUNE rushed boldly on the final turn, neared the leaders and faltered. GOTTADANCE lacked early speed. RAMPAGEOUS saved ground to no avail. SWEET SIXTEEN weakened after a half-mile. MUSICAL LADY, for-wardly .placed and saving ground, failed to respond in the drive. The others were outrun. The latter, steadied until the final quarter mile, rallied under pressure but was not good enough. ROYAL FLORIDA was allowed to open a long lead before being placed under restraint, saved ground and failed to rally when overtaken. GRO-SMART passed D tiring horses. SHINY PETER showed nothing. DEFLATION, kept within striking distance of the pace, came outside with a rush, overtook the leaders inside the final sixteenth and drew clear. HAPPY BOUND, in closest attendance of the early pace, moved to vie for command near the furlong pole, was forced to go wide, but continued on gamely. BLUE KAY closed with a belated rush on the extreme outside. DYNASTIC saved ground to no avail. SPECIAL NURSE set a rapid pace for a half-mile, entered the stretch with a clear advantage, but shortened stride and drifted .wide. HARLEM KING had no mishap. SUN JEEP, reserved close lo the pace and saving ground, moved along the inside to take command in the stretch, swerved out brushing TRIUMPHANT, continued on after being straightened and forged to the front in the final yards. SUN JEEP was disqualified and placed second. TRIUMPHANT raced in close attendance of the pace while under stout restraint, assumed command when ready and drew clear, shortened stride and was tiring when brushed but continued on gamely and just missed. PHEASANT BOY rallied after six furlongs, came outside to challenge the leaders and appeared to hang. GO GO GO weakened after six furlongs. GREEK STADIUM and ARMY PAL were outrun. The latter worked his way up along the inside to take the early lead, saved ground on the turns, then weakened and was tiring at the finish. LETS DANCE caugh ttiring horses. PONTALBA went evenly. REYNOLDS JR. saved ground to no avail. FINCHHAVEN lacked a closing rally. SAILING HOME was through early. The others were outrun.
