McLennan Reminds Horsemen Of Two MRA Stakes Closing DETROIT RACE COURSE, Livonia, Mich., June 18. — Racing secretary-handi-capper Charles J. McLennan calls attention of turfmen to the closing of two stakes slated for decision during the current Michigan Racing Association meeting. The 5,000 Frontier Handicap, one mile and one-sixteenth for three-year-olds and older, closes for entries on Saturday, and the ,500 Governors Stakes at six furlongs for two-year-olds, will close oh July 18. The Frontier will feature the Independence bay holiday program while the Governors is to headline the sport here on Saturday, August 1, final day of the meet.
