POMPANO raced into command under pressure at the half-mile, saved all possible ground while repulsing a bid from NOSTREBOR entering the stretch and steadily drew away. TIDE LANDS broke poorly and trailed while sluggish, then rallied fast in the last stages and was up to best NOSTREBOR. The latter was rated within striking distance, loomed boldly for the drive, but tired and drifted out JACK JAY saved ground and was reserved early, but lacked a rally. MISS GRETCHEN had no excuse.
