BOGALUSA was fairly well placed between horses in the opening half mile, moved up resolutely when called upon and caught LITTLE EGYPT in the final sixteenth to win going away. LITTLE EGYPT improved position to get to the front at midstretch, but was not good enough. HOMING PIGEON closed much ground in the final quarter. GALLANT TUCK weakened in the stretch. MIRA SADOR and YOUR LETTA had early speed. LUCE CHANGE was too badly outrun early to have much chance. STAGE LADY went to the outside on the far turn and was pulled up when beaten off. MON BAISER raced forwardly placed for five furlongs, then moved up in the middle of the track through the stretch, forged to the front in the last furlong and held FRENCHTOWN. The latter came to the inside for the stretch run and was going strongly at the end. MR. DUDE lost much ground in the stretch and faltered after having challenged for the leadership an eighth out. CRITERIA followed the pace under restraint for six furlongs, then moved fast on the outside to easily take command approaching the stretch turn and was not in danger thereafter. GRACIOUS HEART failed to move with CRITERIA and as a result dropped too far back of the latter and was unable to make up the ground, although easily best of the others. BABY BATTLER was going well in the middle of the track at the finish. ROSAMUNDA II. closed fast. The others were used up making the pace and tired. FOURTH RACE 5 FURLONGS. BROWNING broke well, and although unable to keep up with the pacesetters, was never too far away, then saved ground in the stretch to get to the front and hold BIG LOU G. The latter moved up around the stretch turn and was racing strongly at the end. CADILLAC KING moved to the front after entering the stretch and held on well. COLONEL JETT dashed up soon after the start and weakened near the finish. JUDGE BROWDEE weakened in the stretch. The others were unable to keep. up. CHICAGO was never too /ar from the pace and saved some ground in the stretch, but was unable to charge at them until the final sixteenth, then caught them going wide to cut to the inside, and finishing with a rush, got up in the closing strides. AMAFOX entered the stretch on the outside of ISSYBEE, and racing on virtually even terms with the latter through the final eighth, bested him narrowly. ISSYBEE had the most early speed and held on well. LITTLE J0NESY closed evenly. CAPT. GALLAGHER was rated-in the first part, then finished courageously. COQUINET finished well. ATOM BUSTER and HUIZ ME tired. BULLISH, well rated early, went lo the front when ready on the backstretch, and saving ground in the stretch went gamely to the end to hold CHINKAPIN. The latter moved up fast after leaving the backstretch and went well thereafter. AIM dropped some distance back of the pace early, was outrun by CHINKAPIN around the far turn and required" to take back, then came to the outside in the stretch and finished well in a creditable race.
