Kirkland Fractures Ankle - DELAWARE PARK, Stanton, Del., June 18. — Veteran jockey Arnold Kirkland, of Petersburg, Va., suffered a fracture of the lower* left ankle Tuesday when his leg struck the gate while aboard Gina in the second race at Delaware Park. The injury at first was believed only superficial, but X-rays today revealed the fracture. He is in Delaware Hospital and is expected to be out of the saddle for at least seven weeks.
