The Palmer Park, six furlongs for four-year-olds and up, drew an overnight band of eight seasoned sprinters, the Ashland at a like distance matches 10 of the better three-year-olds quartered at the local oval while the five furlongs Park Lane is to bring out seven two-year-olds. D. H. Wells Black Bantam, a four-year-old Halcyon-sired gelding, is the early favorite for the Palmer Park on the strength of his close second to Milton Shagrins Shag Tails in the recently-decided Linwood Purse.
