PHANTOM HEELS began alertly, was much used racing GRANNY D. into defeat and could not stay with the winner. RAY DON gave a good effort and had no excuse. BUBBLE GUM lacked early foot but finished fast. LIEBESKIND failed to rally when set down through the stretch. MR. SKEETER began sluggishly. MALLEABLE took command early, established a clear lead entering the stretch and won with speed in reserve. SMOOTH PALM, a keen factor from the beginning, held on willingly but was not good eTTough for the winner. OPOZO raced wide to the upper turn, steadily made up ground thereafter but could not get to the top pair. TRAFFIC MISS was unable to better her position v/hen set down through the stretch. JULIAN LOUISforced wide approaching the stretch, finished fairly well when clear for the drive. FERNDALE was outrun. LITTLE COLONEL began slowly. STURDY showed nothing. RUBIO could not keep up. HY FRONT was never dangerous after the break. HERES COLINA, in close quarters leaving the backstretch, failed to stay. GOLD CHEST was far back throughout. SPECIFIC raced evenly for a half-mile, responded readily when hard urged through the stretch and wore down MARSE ROBERT in the last strides. The latter raced nearest NIFTY to the final furlong, reached the lead between calls near the finish, but was unable to hold the winner. SUN IDOL JR, saved ground entering the stretch and closed strongly under punishment. LEGS, on the outside throughout, gave a good effort. NIFTY took command at once, set the pace to the last eighth mile while engaging MARSE ROBERT, then faltered. VAPARENA was outrun. NIGHT AGAIN lacked early foot. SMART EVE had a rough race. BEGUILE showed nothing.* CEDAR LOCK raced wide. ALPHAS CHOICE raced forwardly placed to the stretch, then gave way. PRAIRIE KID, away sluggishly and outrun to the last quarter milei finished strongly, but could not reach his stablemate, TOMI BLU, although much the best of the others. HERA LOT took an early lead, set the pace to the final furlong, then weakened. SISTIME, between horses during the stretch run, tired. NAGS HEAD was outrun. ORATORY could not keep up. SPEEDY JET, a keen factor from the beginning, was bothered by the swerving BILLIES ANN during the stretch run and faltered when near the finish. ROMAN SQUIRE tired after showing early speed.
