Centralia Purse Heads Fairmount Card Tonight Santa Fe, Carmargo Bill and Winabet Tangle at 1 1-16 Miles By C. A. LINDEMAN Staff Correspondent FAIRMOUNT PARK, Collinsville, HI., June 18. — The Centralia Purse, an allowance affair for routers at a mile and one-sixteenth, drew a field of seven that will battle it out for a ,300 purse. This race is packed with tough competition and will give the Friday night race fans a real run for their money. The way the race stacks up it looms as a real battle between Santa Fe, Carmargo Bill and Winabet. Santa Fe, owned by Mr. and Mrs. G. B. Holman, will be out after his third victory of the meeting when he meets this flashy : field of routers iji the Centralia. The 1 eight-year-old son of Balladier has started only three times here and accounted for two of those efforts, one at a mile and a sixteenth , and one at six furlongs, his only defeat came in a six-furlong sprint in ■ which he was fifth to fast sprinters such i as Kissable and Hi Ante. Santa Fes last ■ winning race puts him to the fore of a : field of this type as he traversed the mile i and a sixteenth in the fast time of 1:45% with 118 pounds up. In his try for his 1 third victory tomorrow the Holman color-bearer 1 will be packing the same weight. Coming back to the races after several 1 weeks layoff will be Camargo Bill from 1 the R. A. Dealy stable. His last outing here was a winning one as he romped home j an eight-length victor over Pretty Ruth i and Milltown. Time for that race was at : 1:46%. The Dealy runner has turned in ! some good workouts recently and appears 1 to be at his peak form for this test of j stamina. Camargo Bill will be picking up 1 three pounds off his winning race and will carry 113 in the Centralia. Winabet, owned by J. E. Freshwater, will also be in the main event trying for his 1 third victory at this meeting. The Freshwater 1 router won his last two races here, one over a fast track and one over a sloppy i racing strip, both winning races were over I the mile and a sixteenth distance. Winabet i will have 113 pounds up and will again ] have apprentice G. R. Martin up. Rounding out the field for the Centralia ] Purse will be Wise Needle, a winner last 1 time out when he distanced his field, winning 1 by 30 lengths; Betty R., a winner 1 here last time out at a mile and a sixteenth; 1 Skyolater, a two-time winner this season here at Fairmount Park and Hay-rachi, who started twice at the meeting, being in the money in both efforts.
