COLONY PAGE, outrun to the stretch, was sent to the middle of the track for the drive and, closing strongly under punishment, disposed of BROSE.in the last strides. The latter raced evenly for a half-mile, reached the lead between calls near the finish, but could not hold the winner. MAIN SPEAKER lacked early foot, but made up grounckduring the drive. JUDGE LANE gave a good effort and had no excuse. KING CARE was outrun. NORAS WATCH was never dangerous. CELERITER showed nothing. JERRY MY BOY failed to stay after showing vearly speed. COUNTESS IN, never far back and well handled, took command nearing the stretch, responded readily when set down in the drive and held IRRITATE safe. IRRITATE, a keen factor from the start, closed gamely under brisk handling, but could not overtake the top one. BATTLE HERO took an early lead, set the pace for five-eighths mile, then faltered when challenged by COUNTESS IN. FERN GOLD raced well and had no mishap. DEEP BLUE lacked early speed. GHIBLI, alertly handled, took command at once, established a long lead before entering the stretch but was ridden during the final furlong to withstand ALMENOW. The latter steadily worked way forward, was sent to the middle of the track for the stretch run and, closing strongly, was getting to the winner. SHERIFF GROSCH gave a good effort and had no excuse. WITCH WAY held on well and had no mishap. WISENHEIMER was outrun. AWARE raced prominently until inside the stretch, then weakened. HURRY-SKURRY began sluggishly and was never dangerous. Won driving; second and third the same. .SHAG TAILS, forwardly placed from the start, was caught in close guarters after passing the furlong pole, responded to smart handling while racing between horses and was up in the last strides.. LITTLE DONOR, away fast, dropped back after the start, worked way forward after the initial quarter mile and closed fast on the extreme outside but could not withstand the winner, just missing. LIGHT MOON took an early lead, set the pace until inside the stretch, drifted to the outside while tiring and tightened up the field, then failed to stay. LIGHT MOON was disqualified for the stretch foul and placed fourth. SLIPPER SATIN, never far back, was roughed during the jam caused by LIGHT MOON during the drive and. failed to stay after the mishap. SPEED 0 LIGHT began sluggishly and was never dangerous. FUGITIVE tired after showing early foot. PASSING JACK could not keep up and was not persevered with when hopelessly beaten. Overweight— Passing Jack, 5 pounds. SEVENTH RACE 1 1-16 MILES.
