Fourdees Easy Monmouth Victress Has Five Lengths On Party Leader Darby Dan Filly Draws Out Fast in Stretch; I Salute Is Unplaced While Favorite By FRED GALIANI MONMOUTH PARK, Oceanport, N. J., June 18. — Darby Dan Farms Fourdees, winning her first race since the Florida season, scored with ease in the featured race here this afternoon, which had the jawbreaking title of the Asbury Park Business and Professional Womens Club Purse. Fourdees came to the finish of the six-furlong dash five lengths before Golden Triangle Stables Party Leader, while there was only a head between the latter and C. E. Turtles Amphi-spirit. Harrison Wilson was astride the winner, who was coupled with the stables Wiser Yet, and the entry paid 2.40. The time for the six furlongs was 1:14%. A crowd of 10,172, again took over last years figures, attended on a clear and sunny afternoon. Amphispirit, was ridden by Jimmy Stout, who was seeking his fourth victory of the day, having captured the Daily Double events and the previous race with If I. Brookfield Farms I Salute, making her first start since competing in the Marguerite stakes last fall, was made the choice, but finished fifth after being prominent early. * Raced on Opening Program Fourdees was the only horse in the field of sophomore fillies who had competed over the track, finishing fifth behind My Sin on opening day. The daughter of Devil Diver — Darby Damozel, who was bred by J. W. Gal-breath, owner of the Darby Dan Farm, won her first start in 1953 at a mile and a sixteenth at Tropical but had to wait until this afternoon to get back into the winners circle. , Winther had" the most speed away from the gate and went out to set the pace, followed by Party Leader, I Salute and Fourdees, with the rest of the field strung out behind them. As they came around the turn for home, Fourdees ranged up on the outside and drew up to challenge. iWnther, while I Salute was caught in behind them. Fourdees collared Winther early in the stretch and took command passing the eighth pole. I Salute was taken to the outside to get away from the leaders and moved into third position as Fourdees bounded away to a big lead and was leaving her rivals behind her. Party Leader and Amphispirit came into the picture down the middle of the track, with the formers-getting the photo for place, while Winther and I Salute dropped back to fourth and fifth. t
