Ma rciano Takes Day Off From Training Routine GROSSINGER, N. Y., Aug. 28 UP. Heavyweight champion Rocky Marciano took a day off in his training today, listening to the radio and waving a brief but cheerful greeting to his wife who paid him a surprise visit here. Marciano, who puts his title on the line-against Roland La Starza on September 24, at the Polo Grounds, said he would resume sparring tomorrow. Rockys wife, Barbara, drove to the training quarters with her father, Les Cousins, a Brockton, Mass., policeman, and stood-behind a small fence near the house where her husband stays. He came over to speak to her for a few moments and then returned to the house.
