ELLSTON took command early, entered the stretch with a clear advantage but was vigorously handled during the drive to withstand SIR TINT. The latter drifted out at the first turn, straightened up entering the backstretch and closed fast but could not overtake the winner. GALLANT TUCK, forced wide by SIR TINT at the initial turn, raced well when clear. MISSAB lacked early foot but finished fast. DOLLARGOFAST, forced to the outside in the crowding caused by SIR TINT at the first turn, failed to recover. PROPS, a sharp factor and saving ground throughout, was unable to stay with STRIKE when set down through the stretch. INKY RACER, in hand while racing within striking distance of the leaders to the last quarter mile, could not better his position when set down in the drive. BOLTON set the pace for a half mile, then faltered. NEDS CHOICE was outrun and had no excuse. HENRYS FIRST showed nothing. TULKINGHORN was never prominent LUSTY was through early. The latter, on the outside throughout, finished fast but could not overtake the winner. FINE FIDDLE, bothered during the run to the first turn, raced well when clear. BADGER bore to the inside after the start, raced with BOLARIS for a half mile but faltered during the stretch run. ORCO was outrun. WITCH WAY could not keep up. WHITE CLIFF was through early. GYPSY GLOW raced well to the mile, then faltered. BIG HERALDER could not keep up. ARCHIBALDO set the pace for three-quarters mile, then gave way.
