Kim, Akins Swap Punches In Rainbo Arena Tonight Phil Kim, highly regarded Hawaiian welterweight, aims for a crack at boxings bigtime tonight when he tangles with Virgil Akins, St. Louis, Mo., in a nationally televised 10-round fight at Rainbo Arena. Kim, who has confined his action to the West Coast, has a record of 40 wins in 48 bouts and included among his victims are Johnny Gonsalves, Chief Archie Whitewater and Elmer Beltz.
