Florican Lowers World Mark In Winning 5,000 Trot WESTBURY, L. I., N. Y., Aug. 28. E. Roland Harrimans six-year-old trotter, Florican, set a new worlds record for a mile and a quarter last night in winning the 5,000 American Trot at Roosevelt Raceway. With Harry Miller driving, Florican was timed in 2:33, four and two-fifths seconds faster than the mark set by Silver Riddle in winning the stake last year.
