PET REWARD, never far back, came to the inside of COTE DAZUR to replace the latter midway the final furlong and gradually drew out when fully extended. The latter went to the front at once, drifted out on the final turn and through the stretch and was unable to withstand the winner. FERIA came out to the middle of the track for the drive, but was never menaced. BLUE WARBLER failed to stay. LIZZATESSA began sluggishly. CHAPAQU0IT was eliminated when caught in close quarters on the final turn. HAM HOCKS worked his way forward to attain a contending position leaving the final turn, came fast when roused and after taking command, won going away. BUBBLING GOLD held sway to the stretch under hustling tactics, was unable to withstand the challenge of the winner, but easily prevailed over the others. TOP GATE raced in closest pursuit of the leader to the stretch, but flattened when punished. UNCHARTED rallied too late to become an endangering factor. GRACIES LARK failed to make up appreciable ground. HUMBLE BOY was outrun. THE TORMENTIL never threatened. VALIANT VICKI quit BOOTS BANNER, shuffled back immediately after the start,, failed to recover. TANGIER never * was prominent. MIDNIGHT for a half mile, disposed of that one thereafter to assume a clear lead when settled for the stretch run and, in a long drive, held BRADLEY safe. The latter secured ample racing room next to the inner rail to attain closer contention leaving the final turn, then was unable to overtake the winner when hard urged through the late stages. C. 0. DORSETT moved up menacingly on the outside entering the stretch, but faltered when St to hard urging. MR. THE MAST assumed a clear lead soon after the start, repelled repeated challenges from MIGHTY MO during the run down the backstretch and, after disposing of the latter, steadily drew out, winning as his rider pleased. SUN SHOWER was sent into the runner-up position approaching the final fence, but was unable to endanger the winnerwhen hard ridden through the late stages. BANNER WAVES, always within striking distance, failed to respond when set down for the drive MIGHTY MO bobbled at the next to the last jump while engaging the leader and failed to recover. ORDAINED outsprinted his rivals into the first turn to attain a clear early lead, retained a commanding advantage at the furlong marker and though shortening stride, after being set down for the drive, held FULL FLIGHT safe. The latter left the rail to come to the outside for the drive, came over slightly on DREAM OF GLORY inside the stretch, then was,unable to overtake -the leader When straightened. FULL FLIGHT was disqualified for fouling and placed last. DREAM OF GLORY, forwardly placed from the beginning, was forced to take up when impeded by FULL FLIGHT Inside the stretch and tired thereafter. JOHN B. SWOOP, permitted to settle into best stride, responded readily after being guided to the middle of the track for the drive and was up in the concluding stride to out-game FIFE AND DRUM. The latter gained the lead between calls during the stretch run, then held on determinedly in a sharp effort. PLEIADES held sway to the furlong marker under steady rating, but faltered when challenged. BANJOIST saved ground during the early running to no avail.
