IVACHANCE wrested command from LOVERS KNOT early, turned back the challenge of that one after five furlongs and again drew clear under pressure in the late stages. LOVERS KNOT was always the major contender but was not good enough. TOBAGO failed to reach contention while wearing down LUCKY SLAM. The latter could not keep pace. CAPTAIN STORM broke tardily. FIRST BALLOT assumed command at once, set the pace under rating, drifted out badly through the stretch and was disqualified for having interferred with MILADY MOWLEE. The latter, allowed to settle into stride, lodged her challenge from the outside and was unable to wear down the leader while being carried wide. ROSA G. lacked a closing response. HERB S. was not good enough. PAGAN RULER failed to threaten. MYSTERIOUS stopped badly. GUANAHANI showed nothing. 1F0RU was badly outrun. DIRECT TINT joined the leaders from the outside and responded to strong urging to wrest command and hold BECKYS SHIRT safe. The latter was under restraint while lacking room to rally between horses nearing the stretch, drove thrpugh along the inside when straightened for the drive but was not good enough. OUR FOLLY attained a slight lead briefly in the early stretch and gave way. DON JR. was unable to shake off the opposition through the opening five furlongs and gave way. WEEP AND WAIL faltered in the drive: FLOWER QUEEN turned in a dull effort. CHARCO was sore and broke tardily. Overweight— Weep and Wail, 1 pound. FOURTH RACE 6 FURLONGS out of chute. The latter broke alertly, dropped back while buck-jumping, recovered to wrest command and drew clear, then gave way through the final furlong. KAYPEE raced evenly. The latter, bumped several times while moving between horses rounding the first turn, attained command nearing the backstretch, set the pace under rating and faltered through the last furlong.
