Weight Eight in Shakertown THISTLEDOWN, North Randall. Ohio, June 17. — Racing secretary Fred Burton today released the weights for the ,000 Shakertown Handicap which will be co-featured with the Susan Stakes on Saturday. The Shakertown, a one mile and one-sixteenth test for three-year-olds, has drawn eight nominees of which three have been shipped in from other tracks. The weights follow: Horse. Wt. Horse. WL Shamrock 116 Raintree 114 Mr. Skip 115 Pick and Play 112 Little Imp 115 Doctor McCabe 111 Blue Shore 114 Whiff enpoof 310 event here over a heavy race track but has turned in some even more impressive races while going with the better sort of the ,000 type. Among the latter efforts were two thirds to such as Fair Edna and Terry Mine and Nord Flame and Sanction, respectively. Along with these she was third to Bragas in the Howard Hively, a short two and one-half lengths behind Susan Lee C. She is improving steadily and could be among the more strongly supported in the betting as the field goes postward. Rounding out the group are J. V. Akers Top Attraction, Ed Golladays Pollys Knight. Another recent victress in the claiming ranks; D. M. Shorts French Admiral, the Helda Farms Bold Satan and N. Ciminis Minnix. R: M. Jones Sanction finished fourth in the Frankfort Purse, an allowance test at the same mile and one-sixteenth distance last Tuesday but has been somewhat of a "rags to riches" horse this season. The Some Chance colt won his first race by eight lengths among ,250 platers, on a heavy strip, then came on to be a length and one-half the best of Naomi in a ,500 claiming event over another heavy racetrack here on the fourth of June. Others include F. M. Ashbys Chips. Floppy, Mrs. E. Julians Fiddlin Mac, C. Breedloves Assemblage and C. K. Andrews Joes Bid.
