Limit Field to Compete In River Downs Feature Brogas and Cardinal Lady Vie In Mile and Sixteenth Offering RIVER DOWNS, California, Ohio, June 17. — Seven of the eight races for Friday, the early week-end program and the thirteenth day of this 44-day session are given over to the platers of the decidedly lesser light. The majority of the event, five in all, are for those valued at ,000. There is one race for those of the ,250 caliber and one for a band of the ,500 claiming sort. The one and only allowance affair on the card is for four-year-olds and older horses. The conditions are for the sort of campaigner which has started for ,600 or less since April 14 and again a bunch of platers are furnishing the competition. This allowance test is tilted the WCKY and as the spotlight attraction it is carded in the customary seventh spot on the program. The staging of this feature is one and one-sixteenth miles and there are 12 drawn on the overnight with ambition to garner a part of the ,300 purse.- Mr. and Mrs. Pete Maxwells Bragas is fresh from a head victory at ,000. The track is sloppy for the event and jockey R. Westfall sent the Goya n. gelding over the distance in 1:48% to earn 00, the major portion of a ,300 purse. That was the second time which Maxwell had started Braca since claiming him for ,500 at Ascot Park on May 28. Mrs. F. Baumans Cardinal Lady is another rather consistent performer.
