INSOMNIA moved close to the pace before six furlongs, came through along the inside to vie for the lead in the stretch and drew out under stout pressure. APPOINTMENT followed close behind the leader for three furlongs, gained command and drew out at the far turn, continued in the lead passing the furlong pole and weakened slightly. BIG HEAP, a forward factor under steadying restraint, failed to rally-when placed under pressure. SPOOL had no mishap. GRASS SKIRT went evenly. ELFISH showed speed for a half mile and retired. AQUARIUS worked his way up along the inside to engage the leaders inside the final quarter mile, assumed command under pressure and drew out smartly. KENTUCKY HOME opened a clear lead at once, dominated the pace to the final turn, gave way and continued on gamely. BLEMISH, close up while forcing the pace; held on tenaciously. HAL-FLEAM improved late position along the inside. BUSY EVENING was closing stoutly at the end. INDIAN TRAIL was unable to keep up. FAMOUS showed a dull effort. The others were outrun.
