Start good. Won driving; second and third the same. DOGOON took command at once, settled in the stretch with a good lead over FLEET PATH, then drew clear while under strong handling. FLEET PATH saved ground while racing nearest DOGOON after the start, but was not good enough for the winner but held on well to best the others. BUMPSY UP could not better his position when set down through the stretch. TIMELY STORY had early speed but failed to stay. TRIPLE BELLS lacked early foot COLLEONI had no excuse. WHIRLING BAT, outrun early, was sent to the outside for the stretch run and, responding to energetic handling, wore down the leaders during the final furlong. NEPAL gradually worked way forward to the stretch, closed gamely when set down in the drive, but was not good enough for the winner. THIRTY-ONE, outrun early and racing wide, finished fast when straightened for the stretch run. STAR SHOW gave a good effort and had no mishap. HALRACK raced forwardly placed to the final furlong, then weakened. FREE LUNCH began fast, was in close quarters approaching the stretch, settled for the drive with a short lead, but failed to stay. RUN RED RUN, a sharp factor from the start, disposed of BIG HEART before entering the stretch and, establishing a good lead, won with speed in reserve. BRIGHT SHOES lacked early speed, saved ground during the drive but could not reach RUN RED RUN, although easily the best of the others. HIGH AUTHORITY raced well to the stretch, then weakened. GRAND EVENING, forwardly placed from the start, took command from ULA approaching the stretch, responded to strong handling and won going away. BOLING •POLLY, outrun early, raced wide through the stretch and was unable to reach GRAND EVENING, although much the best of the others. ALACASSULA lacked early speed but finished fairly well under punishment. GINNAS WAR had early foot but failed to stay. ULA, never far back, took command nearing the stretch but gave way when challenged by the winner. LA MOTHE raced wide. MILLI VICTOR was through after five-eighths mile. SMARTY JACOPO showed nothing. LIKE HOVER, in hand to the stretch, was sent to the outside for the drive and, responding well when set down in the drive, wore down the leaders in the last sixteenth. ONE SWALLOW, much used engaging CELERITER to the final furlong, reached the lead between calls near the finish but could not withstand the winner. CELERITER began fast, set the pace to the last eighth, then faltered. TAUNTING BEAU was unable to better his position when set down through the stretch. STARBOROUGH began sluggishly.
