M0UCHE raced to the leaders under restraint, was rated along with SANDYS CHANCE on the final turn, then drew away when put to pressure. SANDYS CHANCE was rated setting the pace, faltered rapidly near the end and just lasted to best HIYA BABE. The latter was not a _ factor until the stretch, then closed with belated speed. RINGOLD could not keep up after a half mile, but continued evenly and gained on the tiring leaders. VALENTINOIS raced in spots. WILD HAL quit.
