CROWN DERBY rapidly raced to the front after the start, left the field behind while running under a tight rein and was being eased up the last fifteen yards. ASSISTANCE began sluggishly as usual, worked through the field rallying from the final turn and finished fast. SANSKIRT raced wide around horses into the stretch. QUICK IMP caught only tiring horses. OUR ACE was done early. EXPLOSIVE faltered. LONELY WINTER stumbled and almost fell at the break and never entered contention. Scratched— 188284 Circus Gal, 110. SECOND RACE 5 FURLONGS. FILLERUP was steadied after a swift start and dropped in behind LADY PRIAM, then came around that one to easily take command entering the stretch, and drew away with speed in reserve. LADY PRIAM assumed command with a rush soon after the start, offered little resistance when displaced, but remained safely best of the remainder. MISTEMAR was guided to the inside at the far turn and saved ground, but failed to respond to punishment. PATNESS raced very wide on the turn. BIG MEDAL saved ground passing tiring horses. LACEY HEART was shuffled back after the start. ANNSEL attempted to bolt on the turn. BORN RUNNING quit. AT FORTY, rated along while setting the pace, was placed under pressure to draw clear from READY TO WEAR on the stretch turn, then was taken in hand the last twenty-five yards. READY TO WEAR, allowed to settle into stride, was rushed to the pace from the outside down the backstreCch, but could not reach the winner when hard urged on the turn and weakened slightly. BAKERSFIELD was urged to join the top pair from the outside passing the half mile marker, suffered when carried wide into the stretch by ALLADIER, but continued resolutely in the stretch drive and won with authority. ALLADIER, steadied after a swift beginning, alternated forcing and setting the pace between rivals, bore out on the stretch turn, but straightened away for the final run and was not good enough. DANDOLO saved all possible ground racing next to the rail and weakened slightly. BROOK PRINCE, steadied while racing next to the rail behind the first flight down the backstretch, could not menace when called upon. OCEAN BREEZE was outrun. Overweight— Alladier, 3 pounds. MISS TACARO quickly Joined CLEAR the start, gained a Slight advantage" entering the stretch and, while holding her rival in close to the rail, continued determinedly jmder strong hand urging to gain the decision. CLEAR DAWN began fastest, was rated while resisting the early challenges of MISS TACARO, then could not hold that rival under hard punishment through the stretch, although finishing gamely. GRANULE bore out badly and carried out rivals on the turn, raced, wide into the stretch and made up some distance when straightened. DAWN HOP was- forced wide; on the turn. MARYS BUBBLE dashed into a long lead at the beginning, was given a slight breather on the stretch turn, then responded to hustling and again drew clear. MIMIR steadily made up ground into the stretch, appeared able to take command* then weakened when the pressure was increased. ADMIRAL VEE lacked early speed, but saved ground and finished well. SIR VALJEAN was an alert factor, had to be strongly restrained while attempting to bolt on the turn arid finished beyond the middle of the track. BILL VEIT had no mishap. BOLD BLUE was smartly steered through an opening on the inside at the head of the stretch, came outside the top pair for the finish and wrested command near the end. GET BUSY vied with ALL IN ONE for the pace, gained the advantage over that rival in the stretch, but could not stave off the winner. ALL IN ONE moved through on the inside to take a short lead leaving the backstretch, swerved when placed to heavy pressure approaching the eighth pole and hung. NO CASE raced slightly wide into the stretch and could not threaten the leaders. LADY SAILOR was never a threat. LORD CHADWYNNE quit. LARRY A. was steadied within striking distance, gained a short lead when shaken up on the final turn and withstood a long drive to maintain his advantage. VAL RIS began alertly, opened a clear lead down the backstretch, then offered little resistance to the winner when displaced, but held on well thereafter. THEE AND ME was pocketed behind the leaders racing next to the rail, could not get out for the drice, and could not find room inside of VAL RIS or might have proved best IRRITATE raced wide.
