GOLDEN FIDDLE, slow to settle into stride, circled his field when rallying on the second turn and wore down the leaders in the early stretch. SARACEN DEVIL, outrun early, moved through between horses in the late stages but could not menace the winner. NEB JR. showed speed while saving ground to the stretch. OLD STANDBY was taken in hand when blocked on leaving the backstretch and made up some ground when clear. BASSINGTON was through early. ETERNAL MARK, badly outrun early, slipped through along the inner rail in the stretch and was getting to the winner. MY BANKER had speed from the start, drifted out while under pressure on entering the stretch and held on stubbornly. HAT BOX saved some ground and finished strongly. AMYN BEY was void of early speed. BLUE WAYNE was throuqh early. NOBLE TRY was used up in vying for the early lead. DR. HAB UNSEATED HIS RIDER IN THE POST PARADE, RAN OFF FOR THREE-QUARTERS AND WAS ORDERED EXCUSED BY THE STEWARDS.
