Radford Present By OSCAR OTIS CHURCHILL DOWNS, Louisville, Ky., May 7— Today s vast assemblage of people for the 81st running of the Kentucky Derby once again proved the reputation that the race has earned for bringing together, for one common purpose, the most important group of people in all America. So called "big wheels" or top brass" of the world of sports, finance, industry, and government were out in force to be a part of the greatest turf spectacle that racing affords. Royal visitors were the Shah of Iran and his wife, the Empress, while from official Washington came Secretary of the Treasury George M. Humphrey, Secretary of Air Harold E. Talbott, Secretary of Interior Douglas McKay, Treasurer Ivy Baker Priest, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Arthur Radford. Senators included Earle C. Clements of Kentucky, Lyndon B. Johnson of Texas. Walter F. George of Georgia and Homer Capehart of Indiana. Governor Weatherby Host Lawrence Weatherby. governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, played host to a number of fellow governors, including Frank Clement of Tennessee, Robert F. Kennon of Louisiana.
